Being Grateful

Scot mentioned the other day that his favorite holiday has to be Thanksgiving. He says that it doesn't have much fluff around it. It is just good food and good company. I too love it for these same reasons. I wish the retailers would put off the Christmas rush until this day has had it's fill.

I am so grateful for so many things.......and I especially love having my family notice or express this more during this month.

As I sit here I can hear Olivia playing her cello in the other room. She has worked hard these past few weeks at being better at her "technique" and it shows. So I am grateful for her determination.

Scot and I spent a few hours in the yard yesterday clearing out our "small forest" on our side yard.
We both mentioned how much fun we had together working side by side. The best part was that it rained for about an hour of it. Some of our best memories are always during rain! I just love this man so much! He is so good to me! I am especially grateful for my marriage.

Jack has been extra attached to me lately. Not sure if this is because I left last weekend or that he is just going through a phase. Either way I love it! He is my buddy. Always wanting to know what I am doing or where I am going. And can he come. I really love when he comes snuggling up to me and says "I just love you so much". I am so grateful for him!

I am grateful for the simple things of our church programs that help each one of my children be the best that they can be. Much of this has to do with great leaders who are dedicated.

I am grateful for "Gilbert" . I know we live in a bubble. But, I like our bubble. It gives my children time to gain the strength and testimony they will need when they leave here to serve missions and go to school.

I am grateful for family. Olivia mentioned the other day that she loved our "traditions" that she really looked forward to all the things we do together. They are such a blessing in so many ways.

I am grateful for a prophet (President Monson) who leads us. For the direction that we can have. For all the other church leaders as well who spend many hours serving in the church.

I am grateful for good friends who inspire me to be better. To be a better mom. A better wife. And a better friend myself. They are such great examples.

I am grateful for loving parents who walked the path with us and helped us find ourselves. For the confidence they instilled in me. They always made me feel like I could do anything I wanted if I just put my mind to it. I am so grateful for their patience through all my rough teen years when I think I gave my Mom her WHITE hair. I am grateful for Scot's parents too who helped him to achieve his goals. He is a better father because of them.

I am grateful for a SAVIOR! Who took my sins upon himself. All so I could live again with my Heavenly Father. I am so indebted!

I just love this holiday! I look forward to lots of yummy rolls, the smell of a roasting turkey, pumpkin pies with real whipping cream, cranberry sauce, and all in the presence of the things I love the most
.
