May is much like December.
In that it's busy. A good kind of busy.
Good things are happening.
More children are getting married.
I say children because I know they were just children like yesterday! Same with those graduating.
Lot's of studying going on.
End of year projects.
Which if your child is anything like mine, they usually tell you the night before.
"I need to get poster board" That's your first clue it's going to be a long night!
Good friends are having babies.
Some more than one at a time!
AND......then SUMMER is here. I think it makes us want it. May helps us prepare for summer.
Slow down and breath now.
Some of our May notables.
Olivia's final orchestra concert.
Oh my, are they great. They have improved sooooo much.
Her teacher says they are the best she's had in years.
Olivia has had so much fun getting to know more friends.
Jackson lost another tooth.
It has a lot to do with just about every other month here at our home.
It usually begins with Jack going in and out of the bathroom trying to talk himself into just pulling the darn thing out. You see it bothers him that its just hanging. Yes, hanging. All the tooth really needs is a nudge, but he gets concerned with all the blood that starts to come out. I tell him its ok. That it's part of the process.
Finally after maybe an hour or two he comes out and says it out.
Well this time he came out relieved that it had finally come out.........and
I said, "where is the tooth?"
"Oh it fell into the toilet."
We decided not to retrieve. I told him the tooth fairy would know without the tooth being under his pillow.
He reminded me that the tooth fairy usually forgets anyways!
That tooth fairy has a tough job, give some slack!
Braces off.
This girl couldn't have been more sad to get them off.
They have become a part of her.
In fact, she only knows the new transformed Olivia with them. Take a look at the picture on the ortho's computer of the day she came in to get them on.......
Yes, that is her. Just over a year ago!
All it says to me is .........
"Where did my little girl go?"
Isn't that amazing?
I have had the honor of taking her to just about every single appt. in that time.
It has been a rewarding experience.
I remember one appt. in particular that had me and her nurse
laughing hysterically because of her.
Dr. Couser (a good friend) was even trying to figure out what all the ruckus was.
She's got a cute personality that is so contagious. They always had fun with her.
Love that girl.
That girl who is now becoming a woman!
Now, I have proof.
B-BALL practices and games.
Jack has been on fire with this sport. I say fire because he is hot!
You can see that he is one of the smaller boys, but that just means he is faster.
I went to the first game 2 months ago. Then I got sick and Scot went to most of them.
I went to the last 2 games and could not believe how much he had improved.
He was making shots left and right! All the boys were so much better.
They won just about every game.
This is one of his closest friends.
Cannon.
Jesse won an award in PHOTOGRAPHY
Jess does have a creative side. Give him the right materials and he can do something.
The class focused on the use of film photography.
He will love when he realizes how easy digital is.
I love the modern flare to this creation.
So good it won an award at the art show.
Displayed at the Gilbert Schools main office.
Way to go Jess!
Joshua AKA errand runner
Josh pretty much will go and run any errand I ask.
The newness of having his license may ware off.
For now I will relish having this boy around.
He has been lost a few times, but isn't that necessary to learning?
Every driver learns his way by getting lost a few times.
