Frodo Baggins and the Godfather

Yip!  Those are Scot's feet! (looks like the hobbits from Lord of the Rings)  About 2 sec. from being showered.  Thank goodness for soap!

Our long Labor Day weekend began with Scot's departure to his last 3 day Scout training for Venture age called "Powder Horn".   I felt I was on the mend from a bad cold the morning he left.  I was confident about my weekend ahead without him.  A fairly normal weekend other than Jess was scheduled to get his wisdom teeth out.  No big deal.   Right?  Well, I guess I wasn't as "on the mend" as I thought.  I think I was a little bit stressed the day of his surgery, more so than I thought I would be.  Dr. Kelly mentioned that he thought by the looks of it I was the one going under !  I think my "first-born" being put out was more than I could handle.  WE both came through OK!  Wow.  Now the rest of the kids will be a breeze.  I think.  Everything is hard the first go round.  Phewwwwww.......

AND.....Where is Scot to comfort his wife?  Off being a kid!  Or should I say a 16 yr. old?  He was scuba diving, rappelling, learning how to survive in the wilderness, mountain biking, shooting, COPE coursing, and having a MEAT PARADE of food!  He looked like a mountain man when he walked through the door with half of the mountain on him.

Jess was a trooper.  He had little pain thanks to his NOW sickly mother.  This woman made sure that he had a good rotation of ADVIL/Tylenol in his system at all times.  She even got up at the appointed times during the night to give him his meds.  He hardly felt a thing!  He did complain when he tried to eat.  He also got real sick of his limited diet of Mom's many concoctions she made in the blender.  ha.  When Scot got home he broke into his Don Corleone/Marlon Brando imitation and kept saying to Jesse; "I'm gonna make him an offer he cant' refuse."  Jesse has vowed never to see the Godfather after hearing this so many times.

He went to school today and texted me at lunch that he wanted me to bring him his Advil.  My response: "it's packed with your lunch"!  His response: "Oh YES, thanks MOM!"

Between smoothies, icing, and meds, it was a memorable weekend filled with LOVE!
AND........love for Scot's safe return!   We sure do love him!
