Olivia had try-outs for district honors orchestra and was chosen! She is so excited.
She said that she bombed the sight-reading but was great at all the other songs and scales.
There will be many rehearsals in the coming weeks and a culminating concert to show off.
She came home to tell me that she broke her cello bridge. I was so glad it wasn't me! I am usually the one knocking it over when cleaning.
I did knock over our GRAND PIANO, though! I was trying to get a height for hanging our new light that was going over the piano and needed to move it just a bit. The wheels that it rolls on were turned in the wrong direction and it gave way when I pushed on it by pulling out the entire leg! Piano went crashing down!!!
The piano doc. came over and gave it a good inspection only to find out that none of the legs were bolted in. WOW! Sure glad we got that fixed. He worked on getting the 2 side legs secured then he placed our adirondack chair underneath the back end while he takes that leg in to repair. This leg split in a few spots and will be back soon. The great thing about it all is that I AM OK! Luckily I wasn't on the end where it fell. I can only image that scene. That is when you start thinking, maybe I should carry my phone in my back pocket!
The light is now hung in it's proper spot!
Jack's soccer team tied their game last week. It was 2 to 2. Jack scored one of them and assisted in the other. He was beaming!
Jesse went on his first date! To morp-- girl ask guy. So his first date he didn't even have to ask!
Our good friend's daughter Charley Dillard asked him. She was so cute. Well they both were. As it was approaching the hour to leave he left on his skateboard to her house, where they were having dinner. About 5 mins. later Charley showed up at our door looking to pick up Jess. Hmmmm.......a little bit of a miss communication. He finally came back to meet her here. They stayed for a minute, long enough for me to take some awkward but memorable pictures.
They were so cute matching in black shirts that Charley hand-painted. Pics to follow later.
Joshua is being Josh. Skateboarding around the neighborhood, playing night games with buddies, and hanging with the family. Testing his teenage limits is always a fun thing to do to Mom, while dad looks forward to wrestling him on the ground.
Scot and I had our time in the urgent cares this weekend. Actually on the same day! Early Friday morning I got in the shower and noticed I had a rash all over. Then broke out in a fever and aches. I knew this all too well. It was Strep. So I went right into urgent care ready with my prognosis. Long and short, I was taking a antibiotic that had sulfa in it and I was having an allergic reaction. Left with some prednisone and advice to stop the drug.
Later that night.... right before I was going to bed Scot started getting antsy about not feeling well. He was really uncomfortable with his stomach and was having pains that wouldn't subside with any positions.
Finally after several hours I told him he was going in. He was pretty sure that he was having a gallbladder attack. Internet comes in handy with diagnosing. They hooked him up to the IVs and were pretty sure they were going to start prepping him for surgery when they got the test results back. The ultrasound said that his gallbladder was clear and his blood work was normal.
He came home around 5am. WOW. He's been eating pretty bland food the last few days.
We are counting our blessings and know that where much is given much is required.
We pray for the capacity to give even more.
