Having her cake...and wearing it too!

Olivia and her childhood friend, Lauryn.
They have been friends since preschool. In fact Lauryn's mother Stephanie taught Olivia preschool classes in her home. Stephanie and Tim have been good friends of ours for years and we are so excited that they moved into our stake recently.

The two girls birthday's are just a day a part. So.......we decided to have a joint party. Tim and Steph live next to the Hastings who have an arena and were so nice to let us use it for a food fight.

That's right! A FOOD FIGHT!

Olivia was all over this from the get go. Lauryn thought this was a dream! Invites were sent out with no explanation. Just that they better come prepared to get more than just WET. They were told to wear their swim suits, bring goggles, and the enclosed garbage bag. It was funny to hear what they thought we were going to do.......have a service night picking up garbage (not a bad idea?), a mud fight, and such......but, no one thought of a food fight. So........

They arrived about dinner time. Had pizza. Had time to get to know each others party guests.

Played some games.

Took some pictures......and then told everyone it was time for dessert.

Steph and I brought out 2 pie tins filled with whipping cream. Whammo the 2 girls threw they're pies at each other! This they said " will begin our night having a food fight!"
Screaming, cheering, and hustling around to get themselves ready. Oh what fun this would be!

Gathering, and waiting for the 2 moms to get the food preparations underway. The 2 dads were talking much, and taking pics.

"What is this?" Pudding, cake batter, eggs, strawberries, whipping cream, ketchup, mustard, spaghetti sauce, gravy, and a sundry of items that were stale in our fridge. Yah, it was pretty bad! We tried to do 3 heats (if that's the right word). Between each heat they would rinse off their smeared goggles or burning mustard from their faces.

Trying to get the last morsels off the table.

Ehwwww.......

Even Jack was invited to have fun!

A few girls were close to heaving! The things we do for fun.

The girls showered the best they could with the hose and shampoo. Changed into some pj's. Opened gifts. Blew out some candles and ate doughnuts. It was quite the night. Very memorable (that's what Olivia said). One of the girls walked up to me and said, "Well, I can cross this off my list of things I've done". Food Fight crossed of the bucket list!
Happy BIRTHDAY girls!!!!
