Last spring we headed up to Salt Lake City for some serious YW training from our great leaders. We had quite an agenda being we only had 3 days. Great bonding happened during this time for all of us. I really think that to be effective to the ones we are serving we needed to have this connection. Once again we had a blast. Probably because we incorporated FOOD. Christy (2nd in from left) had every restaurant that we needed to try. She is the one with the condo in the downtown area and knows it best. This is where we also stayed for the 3 days. (thanks!) We visited the church humanitarian warehouse or storehouse. What an amazing system that is to see. We also visited the church office buildings and took some time viewing the YW floor. We even made it a priority to hike Ensign Peak. How wonderful!
This is the view from the top of ensign peak.
This was one of the great places that Christy suggested, a quaint sandwich shop. So very yummy. There was a specialty food shop just next to here that we had fun browsing through. This is looking at Ensign Peak monument ....on our way up.
Here we are. It was getting to be very windy and cold as we got to the top. It probably took us about a good 30 mins. to get there. No one around to take our pictures so we did our best to trade off and also do the hold-out-the-camera shots. Pretty tricky. But, made for some great laughs.

In deep contemplation........Wow we made it.
The story: Our general YW leaders hiked Ensign peak and waved the gold banner for "virtue" to begin our call back to being VIRTUOUS. We feel honored to serve with the girls in our stake at this great time in history. This is us with my gold purse emulating our pledge.
Pretty good pic-Jen? She is so photogenic.
One of the many outfits that we saw displayed in the cases that were worn by YW in years past. After our training meeting we were able to grab Sister Dalton for a few mins. and got a picture with her. What an amazing lady. This was such an experience I will not forget. The spirit was so strong in that meeting. We gained so much knowledge that we took back and shared with our wards. They are so inspired.
The two pictures underneath are what we used for our ward conferences last year. The first was the handout we gave each girl. The second is the visual display we built while we were teaching each concept. When we were finished building her on her platform and giving her her clothing and accessories we helped them understand who they each are and what they have been given to conquer the world with. The theme was "being an Example of a Believer". The YW presidency asked that each girl PRAY-READ for 5 mins.-and SMILE each day. They promised each girl if they did they would see a difference in their lives and in the lives of those around them. We have witnessed this! So excited to move on to another year with these great ladies. Thank you so much for who you are. Love ya.
