La Jolla, CA
A mother-Daughter trip with our good friends the JOLLEYS. Rachel, Sarah, and Jenny. We spent 4 beautiful filled days in sunny La Jolla. We started our first day off in Anaheim riding the rides at Disneyland. Olivia hadn't been there for about 7 years. She learned real quick that she didn't like the ride if she couldn't see it's up's and down's. We pushed her on what we could. Her favorite rides were Splash Mountain, Soaring, and The Haunted Mansion to name a few.
This is a fun local joint that we enjoyed eating fish tacos and to die for onion rings.I loved not having to cook! Not a single meal in 4 days........Mmmm.....
Loved this door going into the restaurant. You really get that surfer feel. Always finding the design in everything.
We took a day in Coronado and did some bike riding. Along the way admiring the glorious homes on the beach front, we came across this one that we were invited to come in and see. I believe it is going to be on the market starting at 10-12 million! An elevator for the 3 floors......8,000 sqft. each bedroom having it's own bathroom suite! It was so fun to dream for a minute or two. Jenny and I were speaking as if this could be a possibility and the girls were taking us seriously. They decided that they would save all their money and put it together......."wouldn't that be enough"! So fun.
Here is the contractor who was so kind to let us take a tour. Breathtaking views........Of course it just wouldn't be a completed day in Coronado without going to Miquels for Mexican and then stopping in at moo-time. We had to pause in a local bookstore to have a breather between eating the two. Oh how the wait made it even better. Yum!

The classic icons out front.......the cow and ELVIS! Not sure this is much of a treasure......hmmm.

A highlight of the trip was collecting sea shells when the tide was low. The tide pools are numerous in La Jolla.
A first for all of us was to see Star fish in one of them. The girls really wanted to take them home with us. We said good-by to them the next morning when the waves had come back up.

This cute home on the ocean was catching my eye with the rock formations they had made.
So quaint!

These two are like sisters.Olivia just loves the Jolley girls ........Sarah and Rachel.
They are like family to her.

This is a must for anyone visiting La Jolla. We had breakfast here one morning overlooking the ocean.
The food was so amazing!
They have this hot cocoa they call "mexican chocolate" ........so gooooooooooooooddd. Yes, there was much indulging going on!

Just the inside of the restaurant was fun to explore. So much history from La Jolla displayed in these cute shadow boxes.
The decor was fresh and beachy. I will definitely return for some more cocoa!
La Jolla is know for the wildlife that is all over the coast. The girls enjoyed watching the seals and pelicans play in the water. On of the seals had just given birth the night before to a darling little pup.
This store houses an entry to a steep cave that we explored. The first picture is the outside of the cave and the next is what you see looking out of the bottom inside the cave.
I think it looks like an old man.

Two Moms having the time of our life. We were in our "BUBBLE". This is a good thing!
We really enjoyed our few days of play........Liv and I said this must be a annual thing!
