growing and changing

The children are growing and changing quickly. Here is an individual update ......

Jess- 15 years old.

Almost as tall as his Dad. Passed Mom up long ago. 5 foot 10 1/2 inches.
Can't understand how school will be beneficial for later years.
Wants to drive NOW!
Scot and I are pretty positive this is the exact age that the producers of Bevis and Butthead took all their findings from.......
Could devour 3 pizzas
wants to work at Krispy Kream
even- kill temperament
lives at the skate-park
sleeps till 1 pm.
still very huggable in an awkward way (he is now holding me)
figuring out how individual he really is
contemplates "how bad could it really be for a hobo?" I think this has something to do with realizing he is an entity all his own.

Joshua- almost 13.....

just about as tall as Mom 5 foot 5 inches
doesn't need much attention, better off with no doting
loves being the deacon's president ......great leader and example
eats just about anything not picky......even a bit of a cook
loves hanging with Jess at the skate park
always gives his Mom and Dad a pat on the back when needed
looking forward to high school
never has to be asked to do his many responsibilities

Olivia- 11 years old.

watch out SATAN.....here comes Olivia
very strong personality with a dollop of good sense and good nature
thinks she is in the running for 2nd Mom around here
tells Scot and I where we are going wrong.......usually she is spot on
loves plays ....we just went to Mary Poppins at Gammage and she said "I could really get used to doing this regularly"
a go-er
loves her cello....doesn't like the STRETCHING weeks .....this is when a new technique is introduced.....we really hear about it!
senses a hypocrite a mile away
no guff girl....put up or shut-up

Jack- 7 years old

begs me to take him to the library
begs me to take him to blockbuster
begs me to take him to walgreens (gum, chap stick)
wants me to make quiche everyday
loves sleeping with Olivia (his other Mother)
counts on Olivia for comfort
can't wait for Sunday because he gets to go to Grandma's and see his cousins
hates weather changes
still says he "DOVE CHOCOLATES ME" and that I am the "best Mom in the whole galaxy"
his teacher called the other day and was a little concerned........knowing Jack and how quiet and sweet he is made her concern even greater. She said that they do journals in the morning and he was asked to write about what he would do with a hundred pennies. His response was that he would buy a GUN. And he would also save his starving children from falling out of the volcano.
I could not stop laughing. I explained to her that he has older brothers who have air-soft guns. I also explained that he may be seeing much about what is going on in Haiti. I also explained that this child is very exposed. He is around older siblings. After I got off the phone with a much relieved teacher I also realized that he takes after his father in his writing abilities! Very expressive.
All in all he is doing great.......when I asked him about his journals at school he just smiled.

I love them all so much.........I wish at times I could just push a PAUSE button. Other times I wish we could hit the FAST FORWARD!

I realize that each stage is another chapter that takes some getting used to.
A Learning curve everyday!

I love being a MOM!!!!!
